The Goochland Sheriff's Office currently has three officers assigned to the investigations division. Their primary duties are to collect facts for a successful prosecution. The single most important criterion which determines a successful investigation is correctly obtaining and handling information supplied by a victim or witness after a crime. Investigating crimes is a skill that demands intelligence, logic, and discipline.
